Our Story

Dog Town Rescue was started in 2013 when a bunch of volunteers from a local shelter wanted to do MORE to help the homeless dogs in the Philadelphia area, and beyond.

One of these fine ladies, Jennifer Joseph, happened to own and operate a premier doggy daycare and boarding facility called Dog Town, in Colmar, PA, the Philadelphia suburbs.  Jenn felt that an adoptable dog who enjoyed romping with other dogs could hang out and play in the daycare while looking for a new home.  This worked well for a short while but both the overwhelming number of dogs who needed her help, and the success of this model meant that the rescue quickly outgrew the one or two spaces in the daycare and became its own official sister organization, Dog Town Rescue.

Dog Town Rescue is an official 501(c)3 not for profit organization.  All donations are tax deductible, as allowed by the IRS.

Our dogs come from local shelters, and beyond, where they are often at high risk of euthanasia.  When you adopt from us you truly are saving a life, in addition to enriching your own!

Check us and our adoptable dogs out, and consider making a donation to help us with our life-saving rescue work.
